CONFIGURING THE SALI CD FOR WINDOWS VISTA
Following the introduction of Microsoft® Windows Vista, SALI CD user's are reporting that they are experiencing difficulties getting SALI to launch and run after it has been installed.
A solution to overcome this difficulty is below.
Problem Reported
After Installing and then attempting to launch SALI CD error messages similar to the example below appears.
Network initialisation failed.
File / Directory does not exist
File:\ C:\pdoxusrs.net could not be found in C:\.
The Solution
If when attempting to launch SALI CD, an error message similar to what has been described above displays:-
Click on either the OK button or the X cancel button of the error message
SALI CD will continue to launch.
After SALI CD has launched, any attempt to use SALI will prompt a further error message to display such as:-
"Cannot perform this operation on a closed data set"
Exit and close SALI CD.
Look for the SALI CD Icon in the program files.
Right Click the SALI CD Icon
The right click menu window appears, look for "Run as Administrator" and left click it.
The properties box window will open under the "Compatibility" tab.
Left click the tick box "Run as Administrator" to activate it.
Left click Apply and OK and exit the properties.
If you do not see Run as Administrator in the right click menu, go to the bottom and left click "Properties". In the properties window that appears, look for and select the "Compatibility" Tab. Check the box "Run as Administrator". Left click Apply and OK and exit properties.
Return to the SALI CD Icon and double click it, this should now be working as normal.
